We believe in an open and transparent environmental policy for all of our external stakeholders in order to acquaint them with the latest environmental regulations and management of ecological aspects. Centravis has elaborated a set of procedures and mechanism of informing our external stakeholders about the requirements of our ecological policy.
Setting benchmarks for Ukraine
The company maintains the EN ISO 14001-2004 certificate, a highly regarded international environmental management standard. The purpose of this standard is to help all types of organisations to protect the environment, to prevent pollution, and to improve their environmental performance. For our external partners this certificate is a serious proof point for our successful work in the sphere of ecological safety and life safety of the personnel. Centravis was the first organisation within the Dnipropetrovsk region to be awarded with this certificate.
Sustainable growth
An essential part of our ecological policy is marked by the introduction of progressive technologies, modern and state-of-the-art equipment for minimisation of potential influence on our environment. Striving for a gradual decrease of rejections, discharges, consumption volumes and formation of dangerous chemicals within the main and secondary production processes is one of the essential goals of our environmental policy.
As an employer, we are committed to ecological education among our employees, as well as their families. One of our training initiatives is the ‘Programme of environmental management’, with the purpose of educating our workforce and managers on how to align with our ecological policy. Centravis has detailed a set of guidelines with precise regulations and instructions for each operation. External auditors are frequently invited to assess ecological safety for each workstation at the mill.
New goals in the future
Centravis still has room for improvement in the aforementioned areas, and will continue to pursue the ecological policy, to establish gradual improvement in its environmental management activities and to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide in its production processes. The long lasting stability and usability of stainless steel products will further help to save the environment, ensuring stable and secure conditions among our customers.
