| Dnepropetrovsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Vilkul Visited CENTRAVIS |
30.09.2011
The delegation of the Dnepropetrovsk Oblast State Administration headed by the Governor Alexander Vilkul visited CENTRAVIS' hot shop facilities in the framework of the regional administration on-site board in Nikopol.
Yuriy Atanasov, CEO of CENTRAVIS PRODUCTION UKRAINE, briefed the guests on the work of the new tube pressing line (TPL1) outfitted with modern manufacturing equipment from the leading German suppliers SMS MEER and IAS. Guests could watch the entire production cycle – from the billets section to the cooling table. They looked over induction furnaces for pre-heating and final heating of billets, a piercing press line with 1250 tons force, and a unique extrusion press line with 4400 tons force.
Yuriy Atanasov noted that due to modernization the hot shop substantially widened its products range both in steel grades and dimensional range, which enabled the Company to improve its positions in complex segments at the EU and North America markets.
In addition to investments into production modernization and environmental projects, representatives of the Board discussed with CENTRAVIS' management the issues of social partnership and support of Nikopol local community. As a result, Aleksandr Vilkul and Yuriy Atanasov agreed on signing a 2012 Social Partnership Agreement between CENTRAVIS and the Nikopol city administration.
About Hot Shop
CENTRAVIS' hot shop produces hot-extruded tubes in 5 segments: general pipes, boiler pipes, furnace tubes, Ni-alloys and hollow bars. 50% of the hot shop products are exported to CIS countries, about 40% - to EU countries, and 10% - to North America markets.
Hot shop tubes are used in nuclear and thermal power engineering, chemical and oil-processing plants, aircraft engineering, and other.
In 2006, СENTRAVIS started a large scale modernization project to reconstruct the hot shop, substituting the first pressing line with a more powerful one and installing an extrusion press (force 4400 tons) with change of technology and replacement of a considerable part of finishing equipment. In 2009 the equipment was fully put into operation, and in 2010 the first pressing line achieved its planned capacity. The total amount of investments into CENTRAVIS’ hot shop modernization through 2007-2010 exceeded $ 50 mln. |
