A centre of excellence at Dnipropetrovs’k

One of the leading European institutes of tube industry based on the long tradition in steel making in Ukraine is located in Dnipropetrovs’k. The Centravis research & development team closely cooperates with scientific experts in order to improve and widen the production facilities and to ensure a constant exchange of ideas and new techniques. Furthermore, well-educated and professional engineers and metallurgists can be found in the immediate vicinity of the Centravis headquarters.

Improving technological standards

It is essential for us, as for a worldwide market leader in the heat exchanger segment, to continue to move into high resistance applications for the offshore oil, chemical and gas industries by mastering steel grades of 6Moly, consisting 6% Molybdenum and its alloys, Ni-alloys for high-temperature and highly corrosive media, Super-Duplex for steels for application in chloride environment. We are in the process of extending our capacities not only in the segment of heat-exchangers, but also in the boiler tubes market segment, furnace, hollow bars, Ni-alloy tubing being able to manufacture tubes of double length up to 273mm in diameter of special steel grades.

An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.

Due to the immense increase in prices for raw materials especially for nickel the experts of Centravis are highly engaged in developing new pipe materials made of more economic alloys or even nickel-free steels. Centravis has therefore patented several steel grades with small amounts of Ni which are implemented in power generation and chemical, petrochemical industry.

New horizons for our business

Massive engagement and cooperation in R&D with end users and engineering companies is currently planned, e.g. we have started to master some important end-users specifications in heat-exchanger tubing. Furthermore, we are working to widen cooperation with TOP chemical, petrochemical and engineering companies.
