In 2005 the Centravis Board of Directors made the decision to reconstruct the hot shop, substituting the first tube-pressing line with a more powerful one and installing an extrusion press (force of 4.400 tons) with a change of technology and replacement of considerable part of the finishing equipment. This will allow us to increase our production volumes and to guarantee consistent process quality according to international standards. Large-scale projects are currently being implemented on the reconstruction of main production equipment: new press, cold shop streamline, U-tubes production, group of pilgering mills and drawing bench, as well as quality control equipment (ultra-sonic control, eddy-current examination) from the world leaders in the industry.
Installation in April 2008 — Start of operation in July 2008: Extrusion press, force 4400 tons from a European supplier with a total renewal of the equipment for preparation of tube billets and finishing of tubes after extruding. It is the first such press in Europe within the last 20 years, helping Centravis to widen its products range both in steel grades and dimensional range. At the same time, we will be able to fulfill high requirements in accuracy and quality of hot-finished tubes in combination with a high level of automation.
Installation November 2007 — Start of operation in February 2008: Streamline for heat-exchanger tubes manufacturing which comprises new and highly productive cold-pilger mills, bright annealing furnace, straightening, grinding machines, cutting equipment and new equipment for quality control. All this equipment is manufactured by leading European producers. Furthermore we will install equipment for production of U-bent tubes.
Installation June 2008 — Start of operation November 2008: Several KPW pilger mills from a European supplier that will allow us to improve quality standards, as well as to increase productivity of the shop.
Our international engineers and technicans ensure the highest quality standarts.
