MEP Karin Karlsbro Meets with Centravis CEO Yuriy Atanasov in Ukraine

We had the honor of welcoming MEP Karin Karlsbro (ice-Chair of the Committee on International Trade (INTA) of European Parliament) to Ukraine this week for a substantive conversation on the future of EU–Ukraine industrial cooperation.

The focus: the upcoming EU steel safeguard review and what it will mean for Ukrainian seamless stainless steel tubes and pipes – a niche, high-specification product that European automotive, energy, hydrogen, and chemical industries have relied on for years.

This is the same product Centravis continues to manufacture in Nikopol today – maintaining production, quality, and supply commitments to our European partners throughout the war.

Our position, shared openly with MEP Karlsbro: quotas built on a 2022–2024 average would mechanically convert wartime disruption into a permanent ceiling on Ukrainian industry. A pre-war reference reflects real capacity, real EU demand, and preserves industrial employment in Nikopol.

Sincere thanks to Karin for her time, her questions, and her commitment to Ukraine. This is what European integration looks like in practice.
